I love natural infused herbal soaps, free of chemicals, that leave your skin feeling
smooth and healthy.
When i got my cambrian blue soap from Tony's shop, i could not stop smelling this lovely soap.
It is calming and has the most unusual scent.
I think i will try his coffee scrub version next time.
Maybe it will do the final twist to wake me up in the morning?

1. How and when did you start making Soap?

I had had the idea of making soap for myself and as a business for many years,
but was initially terrified by all the warnings of working with lye.
And well, like a lot of things, it got put on the back burner.
Then one day, now a few years ago, I ran out of soap.
I was tired purchasing commercial products that were not good for my skin,
and that’s when the idea of soap making reemerged. It sounds kind of silly,
but running out of soap that day was a turning point for me.
I started my research that day, and have never looked back.

2. What inspires you the most in regards to your creations?

Most of my inspiration is derived from nature. Time spent gardening,
exploring the Maine landscape and reading the works of gardeners and herbalists such as Elliot Coleman,
Barbara Damrosch, Rosemary Gladstar, Matthew Wood and James Green.

3. What is your favorite soap you've created and why?

That’s a tough one. Where I do enjoy every one of my soaps, the one that I use daily is the Shavin’ Soap.
After shaving my head for more than 15 years now, and trying most everything on the market,
I could not be happier with this soap. It is consistent in its performance
and I cannot see changing one aspect about it.

4. Do you have any new creations in the works? If so, what can shoppers expect to see from you soon?

I have a couple new soaps that are on the rack right now; Facial Soap for Oily Skin & Lavender Aloe.
As far as the ideas that are still formulating, well I don’t usually like to share,
because you never know what will actually get to the production stage.
However, I do plan on making a dog shampoo and a laundry soap bar with DIY instructions very soon.
I also have a new Plantain salve soon to be introduced as well.
